Rumpus 1.3 User's Guide

Anonymous Options

Many FTP server administrators run their server for both internal, authenticated users as well as public anonymous FTP. For these administrators, Rumpus includes a feature that allows you to limit anonymous access during peak times, providing increased accessibility for authenticated users.

Figure 10: Identifying peak times for anonymous access.

The grid allows you to easily specify the times of the day and week your server is busiest. Red squares denote peak times, and gray squares reflect more normal load times. You can then specify the maximum number of anonymous users to allow during peak and non-peak hours. If necessary, you can deny all anonymous access during peak times by setting the maximum allowed anonymous users during peak hours to zero.
